新入生の皆さまへ
大阪総合デザイン専門学校に入学された皆さん、おめでとうございます。
国の緊急事態宣言に従い、今年度の入学式の中止及び授業開始日を5月７日とすることを決定いたしました。
学生の皆さんの健康と安全を守ること、そして国、地域とともに感染症患者をこれ以上増やさない対策に取り組むことを最優先いたしました。
このような形で新入生の皆さんを当校にお迎えすることをご理解いただきますようお願いいたします。
皆さんは今日から大阪総合デザイン専門学校の一年生です。
5月に予定されている授業開始までどうぞ無事に過ごしてください。国等から示された指針をよく理解して、不要不急の外出を避けて居宅で過ごしてください。
元気な皆さんと学校でお会いできるのを心待ちにしています。
当校では皆さんが安心して授業開始を迎えることができるよう、学校休業期間中に自宅で取り組むことができる課題を提示するなど、これからの2年間の学生生活をうまくスタートできる工夫をいたします。
また、これから始まる学校生活について知りたいこと、気にかかることがあれば遠慮なくネット又は電話で学校までお問合せください。
保護者の皆さまもたいへんご心配されていることと思いますが、学校休業期間中も、学校再開後の教育活動が円滑に実施できるよう対応してまいりますし、授業の遅れも1年間をかけて必要授業時間数を確保するなど、万全の指導を行ってまいりますのでご安心ください。
波乱の幕開けとなった２０２０年度の新学期ではありますが、今年度から始まる新学科体制の３学科(デザイン、クリエイティブ、コミックアート)には、３２１名の新入生をお迎えすることになりました。
その中には１０の国、地域から７７名の留学生をお迎えしていますが、入国制限のためにまだ日本に到着できていない留学生も２０名近くいらっしゃいます。
今までになかった事態に世界中が浮足立っている状況がこれからもしばらく続くことが予想されます。
今年入学された皆さんの多くは、２０世紀から２１世紀に移り変わる節目の２０００年前後に生まれ、日本の元号が令和となって初めての新入生となりました。
皆さんは大きな時代の節目に立ち会う運命なのかもしれません。
日本では２０１８年6月の大阪北部地震、7月の西日本豪雨、9月の台風21号が西日本を襲いました。２０１９年１０月には最大級の台風１９号が関東地方に上陸しました。
１００年に一度の大災害が次々に起こる時代、当たり前でないことが当たり前になってしまう時代になりました。
そして今、新型コロナウィルスがついに地球規模で蔓延し、世界中で死者数の激増が報告され、学校閉鎖や大規模イヴェントの中止が続くなど、人類が初めて経験する事態が進行しています。
世界的な緊急事態におかれたときに、まず最優先されるのは命を守ることでしょう。
今一番大事なのは新型コロナウィルスに感染しないこと、とにかく生き延びることです。
正しく恐れて、正しく行動することが生き残ることに繋がります。
「種の起源」で進化論を唱えたチャールス・ダーウィンは、「生き残るのは、最も強い種でも最も賢い種でもない、変化に最も適応できる種である」と言っています。
最強でなくとも、抜群に賢くなくても、変化の兆しを感じ取ること、そしてその変化に適切に対応することができれば、時代に生き残ることができるということです。
どのようなことが起こっても、大事なのは変化に対応することです。
このような緊急事態の時こそ、やみくもに先行きを心配するのではなく、心を今現在に集中させて今やるべきことに取り組んでほしいと思います。
この緊急事態が終息するには少し時間はかかるかも知れませんが、人類の叡智がコロナウィルスに打ち勝ち打ち、皆さんが安心して当校での学業に専念できる日がくるでしょう。
その日から皆さんには学業のスタートダッシュを図ってほしいと思います。2年間は本当に短い期間です。しかし過ごし方次第でとても充実した2年間にすることも可能です。
学校では真剣に学業に取り組んでほしいと思います。真剣に取り組むことで自分が思いもしなかったレヴェルに達していることに気づくでしょう。思いもかけない成果を手にした自分の成長を実感してほしいと思います。
もう一つ、この2年間の学校生活で大事なことは人との出会いです。
人が成長するということ、人生に喜びを感じるということ、自分の未来に希望を感じるということ、将来やるべきことが見つかったと思うこと、そんなすべての事柄の出発点は人との出会いであると言えるのではないでしょうか。
人はその人にふさわしい人に出会います。あなたはあなたにふさわしい人としか出会えないとも言えるでしょう。
「類は友を呼ぶ」という言葉はそのことを言っています。
素晴らしい貴重な出会いを求めるなら、あなたが素晴らしい貴重な人になればいいのです。
これから始まる学生生活において、皆さんのこれからの人生の糧となる素敵な出会いが待っておりますように。皆さんの日常が厳しい勉強とともに喜びと楽しみとときめきに満ち溢れますように。
数十年がたった時、「大阪総合デザイン専門学校で学び、あの出会いがあってよかった。自分は大阪総合デザイン専門学校を選んでよかった」と心から思ってくださいますように。
われわれ教職員一同は全力を尽くしたいと思います。
皆さんが、発見し、成長し、生き抜く力を身につけられるよう、共に学んでいきましょう。

Greeting Ceremony from Maruoka Kouji, principal of Osaka Sogo College of Design
To all new students
Congratulations to all students who have entered Osaka College of Design.
In accordance with the State Declaration of Emergency, we have decided to cancel the entrance ceremony this year and start classes on May 7th. The top priority was to protect the health and safety of our students and to work with the country and the region to keep the number of infectious disease patients from increasing. We hope everyone understand that we welcome new students in this way.
From now on everyone is a freshman in Osaka College of Design. So, please stay safe until the class starts in May. Please understand the guidelines given by the government and stay at home avoiding unnecessary and urgent outings. I look forward to seeing you guys at school.
At our school, we will try to start the student life for the next two years well by presenting tasks that can be tackled at home during school holidays so that you can start classes with peace of mind.
Also, if you have any concerns about the school life or if you have any concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the school online or by phone.
I think that parents would be very worried, but even during the school holidays, we will make efforts to smoothly carry out educational activities after school reopening. Even if classes are delayed, please be assured that we will provide you with thorough instruction, such as securing the required number of lesson hours over the course of a year.
Although this is the new semester of 2020, which started the turbulence, Three new subjects (design, creative, and comic art) will be welcomed by 321 new students starting this year.Among them, there are 77 international students from 10 countries and regions, but almost 20 international students have not yet arrived in Japan due to entry restrictions. It is anticipated that the situation around the world that has never been before will continue for a while.
Most of the students enrolled this year were born around the turning point of the transition from the 20th century to the 21st century, around 2000, and became the first freshmen to enter the new era of Japan “Reiwa”. You may be destined to attend a milestone in a great age.
In Japan, the Northern Osaka Earthquake in June 2018, heavy rain in western Japan in July, and typhoon No. 21 in September hit western Japan. And in October 2019, the largest typhoon No. 19 landed in the Kanto region.
It is an era when catastrophes occur once in a hundred years, and things that are not commonplace become commonplace. And now, the new coronavirus is finally spreading on a global scale, and the death toll has risen worldwide, with school closures and large-scale events being discontinued.
In a global emergency, the first priority is to save the life. The most important thing now is not to be infected with the new coronavirus, but to survive anyway. Being afraid and acting correctly will lead us to survival.
Charles Darwin, who advocated evolution in the Origin of Species, says that “Survivors are neither the strongest nor the smartest, but the ones that can best adapt to change.” Even if you’re not the strongest, you’re not smart enough to feel the signs of change, but if you can respond appropriately to those changes, you can survive in the times. Whatever happens, the important thing is to respond to change. In this kind of emergency, I want you to focus on the present and work on what you need to do now, rather than blindly worrying about the future.
This emergency may take some time to end, but human wisdom will overcome the coronavirus and you will be able to concentrate on your studies at our school. From that day, I want you to start your academic dash. Two years is a really short period. However, it is possible to have a very fulfilling two years depending on how you spend. I want you to working hard. You’ll notice that working hard takes you to a level you didn’t even think of. I want you to realize your own growth with unexpected results.
Another important thing in two years of school life is meeting people, having friends!.
I want to say that the starting point of all things like growing up, feeling joy in life, feeling hope for someone’s future, thinking that I have found something to do in the future, is to meet people. A person will meet a deserving person for himself, So you can meet a deserving for your self too. The word “kind calls a friend” says that.
If you want to find great precious encounters, you should be a wonderful precious person.
In the beginning of student life, I hope you will find wonderful encounters that will provide you with your future life. May your daily life be full of joy and pleasure while crush with hard study.
When time passed, I hope you will sincerely think, “I’m glad that I studied at Osaka College of Design and met that encounter. I’m glad I chose Osaka College of Design.” We and our staff all want to do our best.
